Tuesday nite notes

Im not at figure drawing at EHCC tonight...hmm. I should be. I think Im going to try out another group that meets out in Puna on Saturday mornings. Sounds refreshing, something new, models I've never met, painters I know, but don't work with often. I went out yesterday,--kit in car, ready to paint en plein aire. But when I got to the site, Jerome and Ricky were nestled under a tarp. Jerome was wrestling out a palette knife painting of Hilo Bay in the rain, and Ricky was talking like mad. The wind was blowing the soft rain around, and to me it seemed as if Jerome had about the driest location under the tent. If I set up, it would be in a spot shared with significant bluster and mist at best. So I visited a bit, & then packed it up & headed home-- with no painting under my belt................ this coming Thursday's paint day. Boiling Pots is the location.. I will go. I'll write what happens, and all dat. pau.

Sunday Nite Notes

Tomorrow is Monday.. a good day for a new adventure. Tomorrow I'll blog about what the morning brings. I have plans to meet a few painters behind Nihon restaurant, a spot known as
"The Isles" for an early session. Should be fun, have the new easel & all. Perhaps the morning will be conducive to grabbing a lovely swim at 4 mile first. I have found the water is spectacular in the early morn, like silk. I read once that to swim prior to painting is very helpful once the brush hits the canvas.. gets the mojo working so to speak. I'll let you know.
